Tom Brady is the greatest NFL Quarterback of all time.  That’s what the guy sitting at the end of the bar said prior to the first game of the 2017 regular season.   By the end of the game, he was saying, ‘Wow, that Alex Smith is a great quarterback!’   Beer goggles.  It affects assessments of football players, too.

Rule Changes

Blame 1984.  No, I’m not talking about the novel by George Orwell.  It’s the year the NFL instituted the Excessive Celebration Rule.  That’s one of the reasons the NFL has been given the moniker as the No Fun League.  Do something well, celebrate the accomplishment, then get penalized.   It’s just not right.
